The Path to Joy: Tapping Into Your True Self

March 14th to 17th, 2024

Horses are amazing communicators. Because they are preyed upon in the wild, they have an incredible ability to stay present. As such, they are also wonderful teachers. In this Equine Facilitated Experiential Learning (EFEL) retreat, we will work with the horses to slow down, listen, and delve into that which brings you true joy. This retreat intentionally starts the during the time on the farm where Winter has left and the everything is coming to life. We will incorporate the seasonal change into the work we do with the horses and ourselves. This retreat will be held at the beautiful Imagine Equus Farm – set in the rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and in the heart of horse and wine country. You should plan to eat well, be present with nature, relax, commune with horses and get ready to listen in new and different ways.

So why an EFEL retreat?  Well, first horses are awfully cool to be around.  The work we will do with the horses is “experiential” in nature.  That means you learn by doing and engaging rather than being told or talked at. No lectures here.  This retreat is not about riding the horses either. Rather, it is about finding ways to connect with them- to understand them at a different level. Why might you want to do that?  Horses are amazing communicators. They have an incredible ability to stay present and read energy.  As such, they are also wonderful teachers to help us develop an ability to be really present, be aware of, and read, incongruity in ourselves and others and be overall more centered and grounded.  Horses are generous teachers, and if we listen, they can help us with our inner balance and overall well-being.

During our retreat time we will be spending time with horses and donkeys.   However, since all of the work with the equines is groundwork, no riding skills or previous horse experience is required.

As the seasons change, you have an opportunity to dive in and do the same.  Spring here is all about new growth and rebirth on the land. We will celebrate the upcoming Spring as we welcome the intense, energetic and invigorating energy of new growth and life sprouting forward all around us. Soaking in the energy of the season, we will use that to inspire and uplift to tap into and empower our deepest and best selves.  As with all of our retreats, our overall focus is delving into experiential work with the horses that will bring inner balance and well being.  Throughout this retreat we will have interaction and connection with the equines in order to pick up on and understand  their innate wisdom and magic. This retreat is designed to leave you feeling full of life and inspired!

Just as the warmth and Spring brings the utmost bounty, abundance and beauty, we too, will seek to similarly open our heart, mind and soul to joy and living our most authentic life by honoring the light within.  .

This Women’s Retreat will be very limited in size.
